After the big game against Doncaster where we had nearly three thousand, we actually seem to have lost support and not gained any new fans. (I did make this point on the facebook page, before the game but was sneered at by those who seem to know better) How or why has this happened?

a shade over 100 against Eastbourne was a disgrace, but after the hemel shambles not entirely a surprise, simple fact is Weston is not a football town.those that are follow city or rovers or sit in a pub watching premier league, also the population of the town is quite an elderly one with a large number of older retired people from the midlands who have no interest in football. The honest truth is Weston are probably 2 leagues higher than the support base warrants.

i think its something that would change over the years but other than this season we haven't really had that good of a social networking presence, with the Facebook in past seasons being awful! Now that side of things are getting better we should hopefully be able to get it going further, and result in the youth who use it coming to more games. Technology is a major part of the world these days and you have to keep moving with the times! People have an affiliation to City or Rovers if they are interested in local football so will follow that but hopefully we can work on the kids in the area and get them to grow up with the club! Also i know this wont happen but i think if Bliss put in some more money and made us a play off contending team then if we managed to get into the Conference it would show the locals that we are worth watching. All they see in the news is that we have been in a relegation zone or we let a manager go when he is doing well, or we get a reprieve when we get relegated. it hardly screams come watch me. Also as said at the forum that board outside the ground is hard to read so no one will bother to attempt to read it! The club don't really do themselves any favours but at the same time I don't think they really care about crowd numbers!

Weston is not a football town. I hope you are not insinuating Weston is a rugby town as that is certainly not the case. Apart from when they play each other their combined average attendances are less than Weston get through the Gate.
